As explained in the power section, Leonardo Watch is the holder of the Eyes of the Gods. These eyes can see anything and through anything. They can see the true form of the world, so if there is something unusual about your character or their aura that would show up when someone looked at them (eg. being non-human but masking themselves, shapeshifters, magical powers etc.) you can put it on this post.

Leo's eyes also allow him to be able to hijack the vision of other people and control what they see for a short period of time. If you don't wish for this power to be used on your character (it would mostly be for dangerous circumstances), or if for some reason something might inhibit it, please put it in the comments below as well.

Alternatively if you don't want to interact with Leo because he can see these things, you can state so on the post and I can avoid them.

Devin is, first off, a vampire, and in his world that means he has no pulse and strictly speaking no soul. He does, however, contain a fragment of Abaddon, the Angel of Death. This particular fragment is basically who Abaddon used to be, an angel named Muriel who supposedly helped God create humans (as per some apocryphal Coptic texts; I don't take this literally). The fragment is dormant for the moment, so Devin has no access to any of it's powers, but it's what basically gives him life. Muriel's powers are of creation, not destruction, but still part of the whole that makes up Abaddon, so the fragment might come across as life and death intertwined and inseparable. One of the people on the turtle who can see souls sees it as a tiny white flame wrapped in black ones, if that's an help as a reference.

Devin also has a Permissions post about his various abilities, if you care to take a peek.

Pepper ([personal profile] lasergrenades), meanwhile, is pretty much a mundane human. The one exception to this is that she's learning how to use Shadow Magic from the Yu-Gi-Oh universe, and has found what's called her ka. The Knight might be visible to Leo, since she's pretty much always keeping an eye on Pepper even if she's not visible to mere mortals. Her access to the magic is limited to Vee unless she's wearing a particular glove, which basically acts as a power source for her. Pepper carries the glove around most of the time, even if she's not wearing it.

Oh, wow, where to start!

First of all, Valdis is a Hellhound. Hellhounds were once angels, but their souls were shattered by an archdemon and consumed by a creature known as the Void (of which there are details in her app and her permissions). Valdis regained her soul through the magic of a holy sword, and it is protected from the Void by a barrier of light.

The Void is the embodiment of sin and chaos and appears as a large, seven headed serpent. Leo might see it from time to time as a shadow, I'll normally let people know within the tag if it is actively doing something.

Valdis contains the dual magics of light and darkness within her, but doesn't have access to the angelic magic because of the Void. Leo is free to point out that he can see the light magic if it comes up. Valdis shapeshifts into a horse-sized, black wolf, and with Leo's abilities he would probably be able to identify her as Valdis easily.

Last thing. Revelations is a angelic blade that Valdis carries with her. The same blade that restored her soul, so he might see that the magic in the barrier around her soul and the magic in the blade are the same.

Oh, and Valdis also has a ka like Pepper, who appears as a giant white wolf.

Any questions, feel free to ask. If you could also fill out her permissions (linked above), that would be wonderful.

Okay, so unusual things about characters.

Danny here is a half-ghost. Meaning he's kind of in between living and dead somewhere. And he can shift between being human and ghost. Also the core of his ghost form is ice, so not sure if that's something that would show up.

Conan [personal profile] spoilsfun is pretty much a normal human. Apart from the fact that he's ten years younger than he should be. So... mind and skills of a seventeen year old, currently three feet tall and adorable.

Hi!

Kratos here is straight-up an angel.

But not a Biblical angel. In his world angels are the result of a symbiotic relationship with a crystalline being. Right now in canon that relationship is one-sided in that people aren't really aware the crystals are sentient, so it's being restrained by a specially-made crest in which it's set.

Since Kratos was born human, most of the time he just looks like an ordinary human. When Leo looks at him with his special eyes, mostly what Leo would see comprises of his wings. Leo could probably also see the way the crystal imbues him with butt-loads of magical energy (it's currently set into the back of his left hand, but for such a tiny thing it makes him nigh unkillable). I'd be totally open to him seeing the crystal as something organically living and not just a power source, since this is something I'd love to play with and Kratos needs a kick to actually ... think about it.

The other thing Leo would be able to see is a seal. In Kratos's world there's summon spirits, who are basically incorporeal manifestations of certain things; most are for elements (wind, water, earth, etc), but Kratos is the living seal for the big daddy of them all -- the king of time and space. He can't actually manipulate time and space himself, and the actual physical location of the spirit is somewhere back in his world, but Kratos basically provides a fulcrum between the spirit and a magical sword it gave to Kratos's student. This sword keeps his planet split in two different planes of existence (the balance of which is, in turn, managed by the other summon spirits' seals).

Basically he's the nexus of a fantastically complicated net of magical objects, magical people, demigods and timey-wimey space-folding shenanigans, and I'm open to Leo seeing as much of that as you want.

Oh yeah. He's also 4000 years old. IDK if that's something Leo could see, but just in case. He's got some years on him.

As for the sight thing: I doubt that Leo would be able to do it. The crystal gives Kratos total control of his senses (ie he can control his level of eyesight, even to the point of turning it off it he wants). Add to that the presence of the seal, and I just don't think Leo would be able to take control.

Totally open to him trying though! An attempt could be fun if something warps in the happening.

Hibiki is probably even shinier to Leo than she is to most people, which is saying something. She is known for having an Unbelievable Celebrity Aura, whatever that means. Little crowns might even dance in the corners of his vision. She's a Big Deal.

She also tends to experience the world by hallucinating metaphors, so by all means, hijack her vision. Depending on what he shows her, she may not even realize anything weird is going on.

You know I'm on board with this, but for detail's sake:

Naesala is a non-human shapeshifter. Within his canon, humans and laguz evolved from a single species who-knows-how-long ago, so if Leo's powers can tell to what degree he's removed from being human that could be an interesting tidbit.

As far as any eye powers go, hell yes. Use 'em all. Ask me beforehand if it seems like something Leo might do would impact an actual plot-thing Naesala's involved in, but I'm still a big 'yes' in general.

Sera is, at her core, a young human girl.

She just happens to have the power of the Prana within her. She probably exhibits a golden light if he were to look, as if it consumes her whole being. This power she has allows her to reshape reality if she chooses to use it, which she doesn't for the most part.

I'm open to having him hijack her vision at times if it comes up, just let me know. /o/

He's absolutely free to use both powers on Enki! Who, well, is actually a divine beast and looks like a cross between a horse and a deer with a single horn on his forehead (he's a unicorn, is what I'm saying). So he'd be able to see the real/animal form in whatever way you wish, and well... all that holy magical energy.

He might also spot the presence of the creature hiding in his shadow, but he'd have to look a little wider than just at Rokuta for that.

For Zelos Wilder, he's gone through the whole Cruxis crystal transformation now, so he's an angel. iirc you're not canonblind, but if you need more detail on that just let me know! Basically, he's human with angelic powers bestowed by the crystal he wears, so he doesn't need to eat, sleep, or breathe, he can turn off or scale all his senses, he has mana in his veins and can use magic because of it. Leo might be able to see his wings, even when he doesn't have them out. Also I'm good for hijacking of vision!

For X, the biggest thing is probably his name. In that he doesn't have one. 'X' is a placeholder; someone calling him by something longer than that will physically hurt him, and a longer nickname sticking could be fatal. The magic that took his name away literally ripped a small piece of his soul out, so I imagine Leo would be able to see that? Yeah. It's a thing.

Beyond that, X can read others' souls and borrow their magic whenever his life is in danger, so... possibly something like constant connection to everyone in his proximity? I'm canonblind to Leo so I'm not sure how things usually present. As with Zelos, hijacking of vision is a go and also very encouraged because it will shake him up a lot.

Hello!

Eve is mostly non-magical garden-variety human, but she has in the past been under a number of less-than-friendly enchantments. They... probably didn't linger but if Leo would see any traces of that, he's welcome to.

The other thing is that she had a bit of time in close company with the Loom of Fate, and definitely didn't die when she was kind of supposed to. There was some significant timeline fuckery which only Eve remembers. I feel like this in combination with temporarily being Santa -- long story, amounted to being everywhere in the world at once for about a minute, and full of Good Will -- there is probably some kind of mark left on her soul. She's still very human, she's just... been some places humans don't usually go and survive.

oh this is so interesting, and I'm almost not sure where to start. The Fool, first and foremost, is very clearly human-ish; his White bloodline gives him preternaturally long life (he's probably roughly in his 40s despite appearing to be a young man in his mid twenties), but he could live for over a thousand years.

He also is a prophet and is gifted with the ability to see all possible futures--so if Leo ever were to seize control of the Fool's vision, under certain circumstances, he might see how the threads of fate between individual people connect and interlock, and how some of those threads seem more substantial than others. Some people, it implies, having more potential than others to truly change the world.

If FitzChivalry Farseer is ever in the game, this would be most noticeable with him since he is the Fool's Catalyst.

We can definitely go into more detail about this later!

Ha ha well. Basically everything listed here is relevant since Leo's eyes are so strong. He'd definitely be able to see the ghosts, which may somewhat interfere with Leo taking over Bakura's vision (but I'm still open to it happening).

Yato ([personal profile] minorgod)
He's formally a "War God", he's also a "God of Calamity" and so will magically register with a lot of death, murder, blood, chaos, and some more murder. Whoops. Basically Bad Things personified.

Regarding vision hijacking, I don't think it'd work on Yato just because he's basically on the same level as the thing that gave Leo the Eyes in the first place.

I am all for Leo using these abilities! Some things he might be able to see if he looks at Lobco are:

Her in her shrimp form, as it if technically her 'real' form.

She also canonically had bad luck. I'm not sure if this sort more conceptual thing would count, but it's not just by chance she's been in the situations she has been in.

Last would be another more abstract thing he might see is her connection to her witch and fellow familiars.

Kei is an alien - he has an external human appearance, but his organs aren't quite the same as a human's. Additionally he's outright missing one of those organs right now, which happens to be a vital organ for his species.

His abilities aren't really magic, as they're just how being an alien works for him, but I'll copy them here anyway in case they're something Leo could see (this list is incomplete, but due to that missing organ he doesn't have all his powers right now).

  • Superhuman toughness - he's able to leap off a cliff or out a window that's like 6 stories up and land without being harmed.
  • Teleportation
  • Projecting an image of himself in real-time, even over many light-years of distance
  • Shorting out technology with his mind

He's also able to rapidly switch between outfits, one of which is a nice blue-and-gray suit and the other is super goth, so it's possible that Leo would see his contrasting appearances overlapping.

And yeah I'm okay with Leo hijacking his vision.

Let me know if you have any questions. o7

Edit: I don't think his emotional connection to Belial would be visible, as there's no metaphysical connection there with Belial not in the game (aside from Belial having eaten said missing organ to absorb its powers), but if you think otherwise just let me know.

Kaltz is a devil, and that's always noticeable physically - plus his type of devil is basically an anthropomorphic representation of emotion, and Kaltz is the devil of grief.

He's also a highly magical being, so have some powers (slightly expanded at his app but this is basically it):

  • Ice powers
  • Mild healing under very restricted circumstances
  • Teleportation
  • Sensing grief/sorrow/similar emotions
  • Making contracts, eating emotions/souls, etc

Leo can hijack his eyes or whatever.

I am down for Leo vision-jacking Ursula at some point!

He would see that Ursula has magically altered her appearance, additionally. The big change is that her hair is a bright, fiery red instead of blue. This is done with magic (and it turns red, normally, when she uses excess amounts of magic). If Ursula realizes that Leo can see through this, she will probably panic! Which would make a fun log?

Trahearne is obviously non-human, and given the origins of sylvari I'd say you could consider him an inherently magical being alongside being a spellcaster.

I can go into more detail if you'd like, but whether or not sylvari actually have souls is up for debate. If Leo can see something like that, then he'd either appear to not have a soul or to have something that isn't like what a soul usually appears to be.

Using any and all other eye powers on him is a total yes btw!

I'm totally fine with the vision hijacking and interacting in general! Leo seems like someone Ilda could get along with, or at least there'll be interesting exchanges.

I'm cool with the sensing, too. But Ilda doesn't know anything about it - that to the sensing types she has some sort of aura around her (faint, but it's there) or that she actually has some persuasion ability (permissions here). She's human, was raised normally, grew up with other non-magic types. But in her world magic can be "bestowed" and somehow, sometime in the past, an ancestor got hold of some power when he/she shouldn't have and passed a form of it on. You can always plurk me if you want to talk/plot more about it! :)

There's nothing that would stop Leo from seeing things about Rutile, but there's nothing there to really see, either: Rutile doesn't have any kind of magic ability or glamour, they just use makeup in place of skin.

That said, Rutile is definitely not human, so if Leo can see all the way through to their chemical structure then that's totally cool by me. (Actually, I'd love that.) Otherwise though, Rutile's pretty boring to look at.
